Our Journey: Engineering a Better Tomorrow

Garrett Engineering Group, Inc. was founded in 2010 by Erbie Garrett, PE, PTOE as a certified as a DBE/SBE Traffic Engineering firm. From it's inception, Garrett Engineering specialized in signalization, signing and marking, lighting and traffic studies for Florida Department of Transportation.

In 2014, Megan Lerner, P.E., brought her expertise to lead the Roadway Department, enhancing the project marketing and delivery. Carlos Ramirez, PE, PTOE joined Garrett Engineering in 2016 to oversee the Traffic Department and spearhead Design/Build projects.

Together, they have grown Garrett Engineering into a multidisciplinary Transportation Engineering Firm. Their dedication to serving public sector clients across Florida is supported by a diverse team of professionals with 90 years of combined transportation expertise.

Today, Garrett Engineering specializes in Roadway and Multi-modal Design, Traffic Engineering, Traffic Operations, Signalization, Lighting Design, and Signing and Pavement Marking Plans, alongside Maintenance of Traffic Plans. Garrett Engineering will continue to grow and meet the expanding needs of the clients they serve.

Exciting News: Three Major Project Wins!

Our team is proud to announce the award of three significant transportation infrastructure projects across Florida with FDOT and Respective Districts—each strengthening mobility, safety, and regional connectivity.

Enhancing operations and safety along a key urban corridor serving Tampa’s growing transportation needs.

US 41 / SR 599 from West of North 50th Street to 40th Street (BDI)

Carlos serves his community as Past Chair and current Vice-Chair of the West Tampa CRA Community Advisory Committee (CAC).  The West Tampa CRA approved $10M for the West Riverwalk Build project that is creating 2 miles of new Riverwalk with under-bridge and over-water segments, a living shoreline & scenic outlook. It will also feature ~5 miles of major transportation upgrades, including traffic calming features, improved sidewalks, new bicycle and pedestrian trails, safer crosswalks, upgraded lighting, landscaping, and more.
